MID MICHIGAN DUMPS WEST MICHIGAN 4-1
World Cup Party Tomorrow Morning at Yacht Club in Livonia at 7:00am

The Mid Michigan Bucks minor league soccer team put a little distance between themselves and the West Michigan Edge (4-5) for second place in the Great Lakes Division with a convincing 4-1 victory at Plymouth-Canton High School on Thursday night. Four different Bucks players scored before giving up goalkeeper Eric Pogue's shutout in the final minutes. "We are starting to fix some of our organizational problems and we are becoming a difficult team to play," said Bucks coach, Dario Brose. "Eric deserved a shutout. We need to play 90 minutes of good defense, which we have not done yet."

Pat Noonan got Mid Michigan (8-2-1) on the board on a feed from Ryan Mack. Nooonan then fed Paul Snape on a beautiful give-and-go that resulted in Snape's one-time volley hitting the back of the net. In the second half University of Michigan's Mychal Turpin and Mike White each scored to give the Bucks a 4-0 lead with 11 minutes to play. The Bucks out-shot the Edge 13-8 for the game. The win leaves Mid Michigan two games behind the division-leading Chicago Fire Reserves (9-0-1). The top two teams from each of eight divisions from around the country in the Premier Development League (PDL) make the playoffs.
