The Michigan Bucks bid to get back into first place in the PDL's Great Lakes Division took a serious blow as the visiting Fort Wayne Fever stole a 2-1 overtime victory at Hurley Field in Berkley, MI on Tuesday night. The Fever got on the board first in the 78th minute when Josh Tudela knocked a ball just inside the post to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
Hardworking Jacob Peterson rewarded the Bucks faithful when he blasted a low show shot past the Fever's keeper in the 90th minute to tie the score at 1. Joseph Kabwe recorded the assist on the equalizer. The Fever increased their first place lead in the division when Lance Muckey converted on a corner in the ninth minute of overtime. Jeff Weise started the game in goal for the Bucks and made 2 saves before leaving due to injury. Peter Dzubay relieved Weise in the 50th minute.
The Bucks look to recover from the loss with a win on Thursday against the Kalamazoo Kingdom. A win on Thursday is key if the Bucks intend on qualifying for post season play.
