BUCKS WIN 5TH STAIGHT, 5-1 OVER WEST MICHIGAN
Michigan Can Clinch Playoff Spot With Win or Tie At Toledo Saturday

The Michigan Bucks minor league soccer team will advance to the Premier Development League (PDL) playoffs for a PDL-record eighth time, provided they can at least tie the Slayers on Saturday at Toledo, following a 5-1 home victory over West Michigan last night. Defender Kevin Taylor (University of Michigan) led the way with two goals, while fellow Wolverines Mychal Turpin and Knox Cameron added one apiece. Cameron leads the Bucks with 15 goals on the year and Turpin (5 goals) is working out of a season-long scoring slump with his second goal in as many games. Jeff Wiese (Oakland U.) made two saves in net for the Bucks.

With one game remaining, Indiana leads the Great Lakes Division with a record of 11-4, 33 points, followed by Michigan (10-3-2, 32 points) and Fort Wayne (10-4-1, 31 points). Indiana qualifies for one of two divisional playoff spots with a tie or a win at Fort Wayne on Saturday. Fort Wayne advances with a win and a Bucks loss. The Central Conference (Great Lakes and Heartland Divisions) playoffs are scheduled for July 23-25 at a venue to be determined after this weekend's results.
