BUCKS HOST WEST MICHIGAN, WORLD CUP PARTY Huge Game Thursday In Canton, Then Party For Historic U.S. Match on Friday Morning
One big soccer party to watch the USA take on Germany Friday morning will follow the Mid Michigan Bucks' important Great Lakes Division match with the West Michigan Edge on Thursday night at Plymouth-Canton High School (7:30pm). Tickets for Thursday's game will be available at the gate and discounted tickets are available in advance at the Trading Post in Plymouth, the Soccer Post in Livonia and from the Livonia YMCA (734-261-2161) or Wayne-Westland soccer (734-595-6435) clubs. West Michigan (4-4) trails Mid Michigan (7-2-1) in the standings by two games for second place, and the final playoff spot, within the division.
The Bucks will also be hosting a party on Friday morning at the Lakepointe Yacht Club in Livonia to watch the historic World Cup Quarterfinal match between the U.S. and world powerhouse and three-time champion Germany. The doors open at 7:00 am (kick-off is at 7:25am) to the public. Admission is free - a breakfast buffet and drinks will be available for purchase. Fans will have a chance to win Bucks merchandise and register for an autographed World Cup jersey from the U.S. National Team. "We were hoping to find a place that was open at 7:00am that could handle lots of fans coming together to watch the biggest game in the history of U.S. Soccer," said Bucks co-owner and general manager, Jim Duggan. The Yacht Club is located on Ann Arbor Road, just west of Newburgh Rd. (and is two miles east of I-275).
